changing times
its been a long time since I've written anything on a paper, like an essay or something like that. and these days most of the communication takes place through emails. and even the meeting minutes, I take my laptop and type in the stuff. finally, when I settled down last week to write something, it was then I realized how shaky my writing has become :) it was really pathetic...not that I had a great hand-writing, but its wasn't this bad atleast :)
this is just one of many things that has changed over the past decade. computers and internet in particular, have changed our lives to a very great extent. I dunno if it is for good, but I do realize that if I don't use it, I maybe left out :)

handwriting is getting bad for everyone these days coz of keyboard.. though i make it a point to write letters whenever possible, i couldn't help notice how bad it is getting.. can't help it.
I used to be fond of writing with a fountain pen. Thesedays, we hardly get an opportunity to write anything. Although I have a collection of Mont Blanc & other pens I don't really get to use them.
this is where your parents come in.
I know most of us communicate with our families in India via phone or emails but moms are always happy to receive written letters, and maybe, just for the sake of keeping up with our handwriting, we can write to them.
I wrote (by long hand) a letter to someone here in the US and they were touched by it. They said it has been ages since they received a handwritten letter. I am sure that this itself may become an industry here because anything old and fast-disappearing begins to have antique value :-)
its the same here even in university! doing everything using computers, i found it extremely hard to write a 2 hour exam using pen and paper!
kaps, even i'm fond of fountain pens! i even have one here and an ink bottle too :P and try to use it whenever i can....it is for writing things close to my heart!
seriously..its atleast ok in English..but in Tamil..ive almost forgotten how to write..its been really really long..
Already Me (not me it is imse.blogspot.com) blogged about this topic.

The day I entered college,I did away with fountain pens and my already bad handwriting became nastier.More and more I started using the PC my handwriting became like CRO output.(u remember the senti dying scenes in Indian movies)
I have the same problems. I find it hard to write letters. Computers/Internet have spoiled us I feel.
In fact so spoiled..that I feel miserable if don't have Net access. My computer brokedown yesterday and I found it so hard...!! last evening.! ( finally I fixed it today).

another posibility of bad and shaky handwriting could be bcos ppl are in high spirits!!! ;-)
anyway jus kidding... as u said this is certainly one of the shortcomings of the advent of computers... atleast in the past 4-5 years.
I used to have a very respectable handwriting that helped me quite a bit in college when I was writing junk. Today, the same handwriting is my bane and I hate looking at it. I have tried to write more by hand but its getting to be painful and uncomfortable :(
yeah I guess writing in your hand has now become fashionable since most of the people use mails, computers and sms to communicate. I too am a dependent on this stuff, Thankfully though till now my handwriting has not suffered.
badri, that was a good one :)
Narayanan, computer without even an hr is like living in hell :)

Renuka, I was in high spirits too, but my hand-writing was defly forgettable :)
