changing times

its been a long time since I've written anything on a paper, like an essay or something like that. and these days most of the communication takes place through emails. and even the meeting minutes, I take my laptop and type in the stuff. finally, when I settled down last week to write something, it was then I realized how shaky my writing has become :) it was really pathetic...not that I had a great hand-writing, but its wasn't this bad atleast :)

this is just one of many things that has changed over the past decade. computers and internet in particular, have changed our lives to a very great extent. I dunno if it is for good, but I do realize that if I don't use it, I maybe left out :)

I used to be fond of writing with a fountain pen. Thesedays, we hardly get an opportunity to write anything. Although I have a collection of Mont Blanc & other pens I don't really get to use them.

this is where your parents come in.

I know most of us communicate with our families in India via phone or emails but moms are always happy to receive written letters, and maybe, just for the sake of keeping up with our handwriting, we can write to them.

I wrote (by long hand) a letter to someone here in the US and they were touched by it. They said it has been ages since they received a handwritten letter. I am sure that this itself may become an industry here because anything old and fast-disappearing begins to have antique value :-)

I used to have a very respectable handwriting that helped me quite a bit in college when I was writing junk. Today, the same handwriting is my bane and I hate looking at it. I have tried to write more by hand but its getting to be painful and uncomfortable :(

yeah I guess writing in your hand has now become fashionable since most of the people use mails, computers and sms to communicate. I too am a dependent on this stuff, Thankfully though till now my handwriting has not suffered.
