and he gets 4 more yrs

alas, what a sad day for america. Bush has won the re-election, that too quite convincingly.
with all the southern states going Bush's way, it just means that the church is going to play a much more influential role in the government, in the yrs to come. women's rights, particularly on abortion, is going to be totally controlled by the church.
Bush's re-election could also pave way for more invasions on 'terrorist countries' in the next couple of yrs.

this also makes us wonder as to why Kerry lost, inspite of all the negatives against Bush. plainly put, the choice for the democratic ticket wasn't strong at all. if only Gore or Dean had contested this election, the results would have been different.

four more years
the whole world in tears ...

just a small peom attempt :)

I agree with you about the South and Dean. Dean was campaigning at ASU and I really liked his energy. I am not sure whether Dean would have won but it would have been a more colorful campaign. Kerry was not a bad choice either but he was a Dem with republican shades. He did not do much to increase the degrees of separation between him and the incumbent.

I was not at all surprised that South was painted red last evening. Kerry and Dems are liberal about abortion and the south is pretty conservative about the whole thing.

Hi Saranyan,
It seems quite surprising, that Bush still won, when almost everybody I meet in US talks against Bush. Is the concept of rigging prevalent in US too. Anyway God save the world from the BUSH FIRE.

And the Terrorist countries, as defined by Bush and Blair.

By the way,i have opened the Hari's Super Links and you are there in it.

Hi Hari, first off thanks for the link :)

actually there is no rigging here. its the divise politics that re-elected Bush. He projected himself as the protector of christianity or some crap like that. and most of the church goers and conservatives voted for him.

If you look at the states he won, you will understand what I mean.

on the other hand, I'm really happy that my state california voted against him :)

Thats very sad... but then, that is democracy. Didn't ABV lose out to Antonio Maino earlier this year?

I do hope Hillary Clinton would be the Dem. candidate for white house in 2008.. think she has got it in her to make it her home for another few years.

well, i somehow believe that the dems put up a strong candidate - a man who thrashed out issues. but u see, the traditional bastions of the reps remain: church goers, southerners, whites...
though i feel a little cheated about kerry not winning, in retrospect, i see that K too would have been somthing of an imperialist. Maybe not so violent as greedy bush and his oil interests, but the advancement fo the american society imposes the definitions on its presidents, whether dem or rep. And today, america is reaping the ears of corn of its past... there is no escape from that.

cheers!

Chakra, don't you know that US will never elect a woman or a person from a minority for the president?
No way its gonna happen!

In hindsight, I feel the elections as far as the southerners concerned was the best way to address some of the lesser spoken issues like same sex marriages, stem cell research, abortion etc. I would not be terribly surprised if the next President is former NY mayor Rudy Guiliani. America is swerving towards the right :-)

Well, I am out of words. For once I realise that religion is what drives people. Not poverty, not war or death. Its the belief if the existence of an Almighty one who supposedly sends you to hell if you make a mistake in electing the wrong man to office.

If only man knew, its his conscience that is a true God and his responsibilities. Not the belief in ether.
