another lucrative profession :)

thats my car :( happened last week when another driver carelessly cut across to the shopping market, without even looking for the oncoming traffic. I had to hit him.

took it to the body shop. know how much it costs to repair this damage ...... $4500! wish I could change my profession :)

Its a big racket. And there is no way out. A dent in a new car means everyone other than you is having a field day making money.

i know quite a few ppl here who carry on if the dent/damage doesn't hinder them from driving. Of course the insurance guys will take care of the bills, but you would lose out a bit on 'no-claim' bonus.

chakra, there is nothing like a "No-Claim Bonus" here. Instead if you don't claim for a long period of time, your premium goes down. whereas if you claim even once, your premium goes up.

its tough to characterize this curve as exponential or linear, but always there is a huge positive offset when the insurance companies raise the premium :) :)

hope you are fine...

In SG also, the cost is high.. Insurance cover protects most of the time, except that the subsequent year's premium zooms up due to the prev.year's claims.

Thats right! This is one of the most lucrative professions around, and we all have been thinking that Doctors, Lawyers and Engineers made more money! :-)
