professionals and personal life
Nike has finally started using Kobe in its ads. kobe now has his own logo. check out NikeBasketball.com for more details. I'm eagerly waiting for the tv ads :)
just when I was hoping to catch on nike's ads sporting kobe, he was accused of raping a teenager. the case is now closed and nobody except the two know what really happened. but a lot of people went to the extent of even hating him for that. I always loved his game ... especially the performances he gave right after returning from the court room, every time. they were a real treat for fans like me.
I wonder why people attach so much to sports persons. we should just learn to like what they do on field and not off field. many adore these sports persons as role models. but they forget the fact that these guys are professionals too. they have a heart of their own and a family to feed as well.
this is similar to what happened with Azhar in India. many disliked him when he ditched his wife and married sangeetha bijlani. why? we all came to know him only as Azhar the cricketer and not as Azhar the husband of his wife (sorry I don't know her name :) )

desi, thats what i'm pointing out too. clinton was one of the best presidents the US has had, but he is remembered for all the wrong reasons. what I'm saying is people should try not to attach themselves too much with celebrities.
Yes very true.. their private life is their own business, people tend to judge them and that's very bad.
Azhar - I still don't like that guy...for whatever he did...!
Kobe - Who knows the truth...like you said only the two. Let's see how he does under Phil now.!
He is a great player no doubt. Thanks for the link.
I know some ppl who stopped eating at HSB after Annachi got his name sullied in Jeevajothi episode... :)
Narayanan -

- there are two reasons why ppl hate Azhar.. 1) he ditching his wife 2) for his role in match-fixing
wats yours?
Chakra,
Match fixing.!
I would assume sportspeople have considerable influence in the society and they are good brand ambassadors. When you are a public figure your life comes under a microscope. Don't you agree?
agree with u completely..too much of interference into their personal life!I really pity these people sometimes..theyve to think so much bfore they do the smallest of things
do you really think the hating thing lasts? I mean ... newspapers flash it as headlines for a week, people talk about it for a month and soon its all history.
May be this hating thing (because of personal life) disappears too. At the end of the day, how much ever controversy Kamal creates, we dont remember him for that, do we?
venky, thats right. but there is a limit for everything. you cannot simply take everything out of their lives. just idolize their hard-work for the sport.
gayathri, but it does create a flutter. and we do waste our time talking about their personal life.
Its like understanding the impact of Karunanidhi for Tamil Nadu. As a scholar he is the very best. But as a public servant (note I dont use politician here), he has been awful. Doesnt take any thing away from the poet, artist but can we so clearly seperate the man's life and his art?
indha oorla women claiming sexual harrasment ellam paadhiku paadhi poi..
99.99% of the time, its the male who is victimized (fault or none).
my sympathies are with kobe.. nice to see him back in his groove. hope this season would not be as bland and indifferent as the previous one.
azhar.. what to say.. nice talent.. squandered it..
