zen again...

the zenmeister is back as the head coach of the LA Lakers. and knowing the organization, I'm least surprised at this move. and this comes just a yr after phil jackson termed kobe as "un-coachable" :) and this is creating a bigger splash than the ongoing NBA finals itself (which is by the way expected, given how boring the spurs and the pistons play the ball game). this is yet another proof that the lakers are similar to a local political party :)

i'm now extremely interested to see as to how the lakers would perform the next season. to make things worse, they are already way above the salary cap.

the soap opera continues...

Phil had a gr8 team at Chicago and had a gr8 one at lakers during his earlier stint. The Team had a gr8 mix a few years back, and the day that team drifted,i was ouuta the cheering sqad.Current team looks...well..sick....dunno how they will do.

Its all the money. Given the animosity Phil had for Kobe last season, its hard to believe they patched up so easy so fast. 7-10 mil a yr, anything's possible.

Paran
Zen master's girlfriend is Jerry Buss's daughter. I think its both the "bounty" and "booty" call for Mr. Phil :-).

On a serious note, where else he could have gone given his penchant for high flying teams and superstars. Minnesota has Garnett but it is small market- doesn't suit Jackson and the same applies for Cleveland even if LeBron rocks.

The only other place I could see him coaching is NY. Kobe is uncoachable but Marbury is *unbearable, uncouth* etc etc

sudarshan -- "bounty" and "booty" call ...lol super machi :)

NY would have traded Marbury...and oh yeah he is indeed inbearable.
